In keeping with the tradition of American V8s powering the Allards, the Allard J2X MkIII chassis is designed to accommodate new emission-compliant GM engines, as well as the latest MOPAR Hemi fuel-injected V8s. A number of power ranges are available to suit the owner’s preference and driving ability.
Transferring over 400 lbs/ft of torque to the back wheels is a task that the Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission does very efficiently. This fully synchronized competition grade unit has a fifth-gear overdrive to ensure effortless cruising and fuel economy. Automatic transmissions are also available for GM and Hemi power plants.
With some similarity to the original deDion rear suspension, the Allard J2X MkIII rear suspension unit includes a tough 9” centre-section housed in a cast aluminium alloy block. The half-shafts are of hardened steel with equally strengthened universal joints.
